When is Enough, Enough

It seems like everyday I get an e-mail telling me about a new browser RPG. How many can I possibly play? An even better question is how many can I actually play well?

Unless video games are your entire life, I'd say you can really only keep up with a few. Right now I am playing these games:

Ikariam: City building game, probably my favorite one.
Ogame: Planet building game
Pirate Quest: Name speaks for itself
Project Rockstar: Being a band manager is kind of fun.

There are also a couple others I tried for awhile and stopped playing. The best one from that list is called Bite Fight. That is a game where you choose to be either a warewolf or a vampire and you battle the other race.

My point is, I know there are new games being launched everyday, and I know these companaies want to get an many people to play them as possible. The only problem is, I can't play them all, it just isn't possible.

Find Anything on Craigslist

I recently acquired some animals and needed a cage for one to live in. I was worried because I didn't really have any money.

I decided that I would post a wanted ad on www.craigslist.com to see if I would get lucky finding some one who had a large aquarium that they no longer wanted. I didn't expect to get any responses but I got several. Since the tank was for a reptile I posted that it was alright if it was cracked or leaked.

I was very surprised on the responses. I ended up getting a couple large tanks for free.

So, if there is anything you need/want for cheap, just go ahead and post, even if you think no one will have it. It never hurts to ask and you may luck into something like I did. Just remember the quality you should expect for cheap or free and you'll be fine.

This works out well for everyone. I got some aquariums that I can really use. The people I picked them up from don't have to throw them out or haul them away. It is also like they are getting reused, which is good for the environment. Much better than sitting in a landfill not decomposing. After all, every little bit helps.

Possums.......Everywhere

When one thinks of Texas, the lush, and green area of the Hill Country is not what comes to mind. I had no idea it existed until I moved to this part of the state being not from Texas. It is a surprising type of oasis and a much different place than anywhere else in the state.

Culturally Austin has a lot to offer with festivals and a lot of great live music no matter what your taste.

One thing I did not expect was possums. Growing up in Wisconsin I had seen one or two before. The landscape is similar to here, the weather is just a hell of a lot warmer.

When I moved into my new apartment in February, I wasn't concerned with the fact there were no screens on my windows, nor a screen door on my patio. When it got warm I didn't really see the harm in leaving the door open until maintainence got around to installing them.

I quickly learned that these possums were running rampid at night. Luckily I got a screen door put in. Soon after I was sitting in my apartment one night. I was only about a foot away from the door and a baby came right up to the screen and even touched his nose to it.

There was another incident lastweek when I was on the patio that one ran right past my leg. I just didn't expect them and I've had at least 5 sitings of possums since I've lived in Austin which has been 8 months.

Crazy Out Here

Ok, so my apartment building shut off my water today and it will be off for a total of 3 days. I know this is rediculous, it's like I'm camping.

Survival with no water takes days in preperations. Make sure you have all the dishes and clothes washed that you possibly can. This also means doing as much cleaning as you can since you won't be able to do that either.

I also bought a large water jug from the camping department of Walmart. It holds 7 gallons, this in addition to my jugs of drinking water, a large pot on the stove for cooking, a random pitcher, and a bucket by the bathroom sink to wash my hands should get me through. Wow, what a pain.

Maybe you don't have to do this....but just in case, remember these tips.

Why Gay Bars are Not So Bad

I know when I was first invited to a gay bar I was a little hesitant. I am fine with gay people I just wasn't sure if I wanted to see mostly naked men, or if being hit on all the time would be okay.

Well I ended up going into the gay bar to meet up with a few people and actually it was a decent place. The drinks at this one in particular are cheap, which is always a plus.

Now guys hear me on this logic. Many gay guys have straight female friends. These women come out to the gay bar with them, and many of these are very attractive women.

Not only are they very attractive, but they are relaxed. Because they are not getting hit (or expecting to get hit on) they are very open to conversation and flirting. They are actually much more open than they would be in a "normal" bar.

So in short, guys don't be afraid to go to a gay bar. I stopped in at the end of the night lastnight, and there were girls taking off their cloths. Don't be threatned. If a guy offers to buy you a drink or says you're good looking, take it as a compliment. And there are always, always hot women who will actually talk to you.

Actually it seems that more straight guys are getting to know this. I see and talk to quite a few straight guys there and they know this secret.
